TOHAKU is an homage to "The Pine Trees Screen," the national treasure drawn by Tohaku Hasegawa, one of Japan’s most famous painters born in Nanao city. Tohaku's masterpiece, "Pine Trees Screen," is said to be one of the finest examples of modern ink painting, portraying the beauty of a misty pine forest through varying shades of ink to create different brightness levels. The pine trees in the painting are of the landscape of Nanao City, and he drew them while recollecting his memories of the beautiful nature of his childhood home. HAZE (sumac) wax
